Manila (Manilla) Rope is a traditional natural fibre 3-strand rope. It is used mainly as a decorative rope or in the garden as a decking rope. Because it is a natural fibre rope manila will shrink when wet and lengthen when dry so please allow for this when measuring and ordering. We supply manila rope in 220m coils or by the metre.

Sisal Rope is very similar in texture to manila except that it is much lighter in colour. If you have a cat-scratching post it will always be wrapped in sisal. We stock 6mm and 8mm diameter sisal rope especially for that job. Again sisal can be used as a decorative rope but will not last as long as manila if left outside.
Synthetic Hemp / Polyhemp / Hempex Rope
Polyhemp or Hempex Rope is a 3-strand synthetic rope made to look like a natural fibre rope. This soft handling rope is ideal for decking & gardening projects, hand rails & is particularly suitable for children's play equipment. It is easy to grip and is soft on the hands. It has excellent breaking load, good resistance to abrasion and will not rot. It has low stretch and is easy to splice.
3-strand white Staple spun rope is made from polypropylene. It is a tough and inexpensive rope suitable for a variety of tasks. It is a hairy rope similar to natural fibre ropes in this sense. It can be used a cheap mooring rope as it is buoyant, hold's knot's well and is UV resistant. It is also easily spliced.
3-strand polyester rope is a rope used mainly for mooring and anchoring. Even when wet polyester retains full strength and remains easy to handle. Polyester stretches very little & is excellent in resistance to abrasion & sunlight. It is easy to splice and can be used for mooring lines, anchor lines, lanyards, fenders and fender lines.
